Important 
The following updates are only necessary if you want the on-board profile memory feature. Otherwise, no updates are required.
Supports WinXP32, WinXP64, Vista32 and Vista64 (with Driver v2.12 & Firmware v2.03)

Download instructions for your Habu Laser Gaming Mouse with firmware version 2.03

Microsoft Habu software update version 2.12 for:
Windows Vista 32-bit or 64-bit operating system
Microsoft Windows XP 32-bit or 64-bit operating system

Note  Your Microsoft Habu mouse must be running the version 2.01 firmware to proceed.

  1. Download the latest firmware and software driver updates as appropriate from the following language download links, and then save the compressed (zipped) file/folder to your hard drive.
  2. Extract the downloaded zipped file to a location on your hard drive.
  3. To run the Habu software update, double-click the Setup.exe file from the Software folder that you previously downloaded and opened. This will remove any previous versions of the Habu software.
  4. When asked to Confirm Uninstall, click OK. Restart your computer if prompted.
  5. Install the Habu software driver update by running Setup.exe from the Software folder that you downloaded and opened, and then follow the on-screen instructions. This will install the new version of the software.

Microsoft Habu software update version 2.12 and Firmware update version 2.03 for:

Firmware update support for Windows Vista 64-bit operating system is not yet available, but software update support is available below.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE DOWNLOADING THE UPDATES.
Firmware Installation Instructions

  1. Plug in your Microsoft Habu Laser Gaming Mouse to a USB port on your computer.

Important  You must use the same USB port for installing the firmware update.

  1. To run the Habu software driver Setup program, follow the instructions on the installation CD. Restart your computer if prompted.
  2. Download the latest firmware and software driver updates as appropriate from the following language download links, and then save the compressed (zipped) file/folder to your hard drive.
  3. Extract the downloaded zipped file to a location on your hard drive. This downloaded file contains a folder with both the firmware and software driver updates.
  4. Before you install any updates, close all running software programs and make sure that your Habu Laser Gaming Mouse is plugged in and working.

Important  Your Microsoft Habu Laser Gaming Mouse will become inactive during the firmware update. You will require an additional mouse to continue using your computer during the update process.

  1. Double-click Update.exe from the Firmware folder that was downloaded and opened. Do not use your computer until the firmware update is complete. You may see a dialog box stating that An unidentified program wants access to your computer. Click Allow if this dialog box appears. This update will not be successful and will request a restart; however, do not restart your computer until the update is complete.
  2. The Found New Hardware dialog box appears. Click Cancel.
  3. Open the Device Manager by clicking the Windows Vista Start button. In the Start Search dialog box, type devmgmt.msc, and then press Enter.
  4. Click Continue, if prompted, to open the Device Manager.
  5. Under Other devices, right-click the Unknown device and click Update Driver Software.
  6. Click Browse my computer for driver software and browse to the Firmware folder that you downloaded and opened. Click OK and then Next.
  7. In the Windows Security dialog box, click Install this driver software anyway, and then click Close when the driver update is complete. Close Device Manager.
  8. Click Exit on the Update dialog box. Unplug the Habu Laser Gaming Mouse and then plug it in to the same USB port.
  9. Double-click Update.exe from the Firmware folder that was downloaded and opened. Do not restart or use your computer until the update is complete.
  10. When the firmware update is complete, unplug the Habu Laser Gaming Mouse and then plug it into the same USB port again, so that your computer can recognize the new firmware information. Your Habu Laser Gaming Mouse will not work until you have done this, and you will be unable to exit the Update dialog box.

  5. Before you install any updates, close all running software programs and make sure that your Habu Laser Gaming Mouse is plugged in and working.

    Important  Your Microsoft Habu Laser Gaming Mouse will become inactive during the firmware update. You will require an additional mouse to continue using your computer during the update process. The Windows Found New Hardware Wizard may appear during the firmware update. You must complete this Wizard within a few seconds or else this firmware update will fail.
  6. Double-click Update.exe from the Firmware folder that was downloaded and unzipped. Do not use your computer until the firmware update is complete. The update may fail the first time and ask you to restart your computer, but do not restart at this point.
  7. When prompted to install the Freescale USB JW32 ICP Device, click Yes, this time only, select Next, and then select Next at the following screen.
  8. If the dialog box showing that the software has not passed Windows Logo testing displays, select Continue Anyway and the firmware update will complete.

    Important  If the Freescale firmware update driver was not loaded before the firmware update action was completed, the firmware Update dialog box will indicate that the update failed. If this is the case, unplug your Habu Laser Gaming Mouse and then plug it into the same port, and then double-click Update.exe from the Firmware folder that was downloaded and opened. Do not use your computer until the firmware update is complete.
  9. When the firmware update is complete, unplug the Habu Laser Gaming Mouse and then plug it into the same USB port again, so that your computer can recognize the new firmware information. Your Habu Laser Gaming Mouse will not work until you have done this, and you will be unable to exit the Update dialog box.
